THE BEST ROCKET YOGA IN AUSTIN, TEXAS
What is Rocket Yoga?
Rocket Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic, playful and progressive style of vinyasa yoga created in the 1980s by Larry Schultz in San Francisco. Schultz studied under Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in India but wanted to make the rigid Ashtanga system more accessible. In traditional Ashtanga, students must master each pose before moving on, Rocket removes these barriers so practitioners can modify and explore their progress following a set system accessible to all levels and respecting classic foundations from a classic Ashtanga lineage and allowing creative transition. Classes often feature background music and more relaxed, community driven atmosphere. The benefits of the practice includes building upper body strength, flexibility, cardiovascular endurance, and body awareness quickly while calming the mind. Rocket Yoga is typically broken down into three distinct routines:
Rocket 1 🚀Vinyasa Yoga 60 min: Based on the Ashtanga Primary series, focusing heavily on forward bends, hip openers, and core strength.
Rocket 2 🚀Vinyasa Yoga 60 min: Based on the Ashtanga Second series, focusing on backbends, twists, chest openers, and arm balances.
Rocket 3 🚀Vinyasa Yoga 75 min: A combination of Rocket I and Rocket II designed to be a fast, fun, and challenging progressive practice.
